Want to Volunteer?

What is your commitment?

We ask volunteers to make a minimum commitment of one gardening session per week if possible, but we can be very flexible.  Each session starts at the first garden at 9.30am and is normally finished by 2pm at the latest. It is really helpful if you volunteer on the same day each week, but we can be completely flexible depending on your personal circumstances. Our teams go out Monday-Friday and also on three Saturdays per month. We currently have availability in our all of our teams and we can help with transport if you don't have your own. If you have your own transport you can claim expenses for driving to and from the gardens.  All our volunteers are police checked and we always work in a team. We have our own van with tools and equipment, and you don't need to have any specific gardening skills, just be able and willing!!

What do you need to do next?

To get you started with volunteering you would need to arrange to come into our office in Denton Road, Wokingham for approximately 1 hour to undergo a simple induction. We will also need to carry out a DBS (criminal records) check on you - to do this we need you to bring in certain pieces of information about yourself, e.g. driving license, NI number, utility bills, etc - and we also obtain two personal references.
